You may have realised by now, but any form of 'hairdressing' for me at it's core, must be intentional and relational.
And this latest experience for me was no different.
In this vlog, I share with you the connection I have with Xavier Catholic College Wurrumiyanga, on Bathurst Island in the Tiwi Islands, which is home to the Tiwi people.
I used to wash my hair on a daily basis because it was so oily and now through using Organic Colour Systems and being educated by Renee I wash once every 10 days - this has spanned out to once a fortnight sometimes. My hair is the healthiest it has been and I feel so at ease washing my hair and caring for it knowing that I am using amazing chemical free products.
Having grown up schooled to wash my hair daily, or at least ever second day, it was with deep suspicion that I listened to Renee’s advice not to wash my hair as often. However, I had started to get an itchy, uncomfortable scalp, so i gave it ago. It took a few weeks for me to adapt, but i now have a much healthier scalp again and so many more great hair days. Just by washing my hair a whole lot less often. Amazing. Thanks for the great advice Renee!
I hadn't considered before that what I was using on my hair could have the impact it does .. but I found the info provided by Renée made a lot of sense and love the idea of choosing more natural and careful ways of caring for my hair! Thank you!
